The Sun

the sun was oh so full tonight

a lighthouse in the sky.

every night i watch her set,

slipping deeply pass us by.

in her absence i feel cold, alone,

a kind of loss that I abide.

her leaving feels so personal,

as if a friend has died.

I sit down by a lake and feel

her waters grace my thigh.

she warmly holds me like the sun.

i relax and close my eyes.

in this state of calm my mind

unwinds and like a bolt I realize,

for ever that the sun must set,

it means equally, we rise.
